Beautiful Romanian women remain almost unnoticed on the international dating scene simply because Western people aren’t aware of this country existence, just like they didn’t know about Ukraine until it became so famous. The biggest myth about Romanian girls that you may read or hear about, is that they are in fact Gypsies. But that’s not right: although these ethnic groups co-exist for centuries, they are still different. It’s easy to define as Romanian women’s skin is lighter. In general, they look more like Spanish girls, but sweeter. Their facial features are really very exotic and hot. They are usually lucky to have very sexy figures and take a great care of their appearance.
Dating a Romanian woman only slightly reminds dating a Slavic woman: in both cases, you can observe stronger moral principles and certain family ideals that already hardly exist on the West. And in both cases, they like fashion and classy feminine style of clothes. They don’t lose their interest in good looks even after the wedding or after many years of marriage: they look equally fancy at sexy at home and outside of it.
Romanian girls are a bit more concentrated on a career. There are many successful women in Ukraine and Russia but deep inside, they hope their partner will be the main provider. It just doesn’t happen with Romanian ladies. They always do their best to develop their skills and talents, and to participate in a family budget.
You’ll be glad to learn Romania is one of the greatest wine producers and their wine is of high quality. Local females don’t tend to be hard-drinkers though! But if you need a good cook at home, better become one, as not all Romanian girls are great cooks. It’s common for Romania to bottle marinated veggies before the winter season, but their hot meals are questionable. It’s about the spices and combinations they use, the taste is usually not understood by foreigners. If they learn the cuisine of other countries, then it will be ok.
That’s why it’s better to know about Romanian culture dating a local girl. Some nuances should be known in advance. And we don’t mean Dracula who lived in Transylvania.
First of all, visiting Romania and getting involved with a local girl, you should always show your respect towards older people. It can be her father, grandfather, or just an elderly man on a bus stop, but you should always greet them in a special way: a light bow, a light smile, a respectful expression of the face, and readiness to listen to their advice. This is a must. Romania is a patriarchal country and it also affects a relationship between a man and a woman, so you’re going to receive a lot of respect and obedience too, despite all the independence and inner strength of local girls. They rather use these qualities for taking care of their families and surviving in general than for competing and fighting with their men.
If you’re dating a Romanian woman you should be ready that she has many friends and the majority of them would hug her and kiss her twice on her cheeks every time when they say hello or goodbye. However, only a few of them would call her simply by name: the others would use the honorific title before it, equal to “Miss”.
Romanians are extremely old-fashioned in some things. In their traditions, they may be very close to the traditions of Soviet Union times although they weren’t a constant part of it. For example, if you go to a restaurant with one of the beautiful Romanian women or visit her parents for the first time, you should wear your business suit. Red roses and chocolates are the gifts you should always bring with you although it’s not very original. Like in Ukraine and Russia, the even number of flowers is used only on funerals which is very strange for Westerners who used to present a classical dozen of roses for special occasions.
Romania can again be compared to Russia and Ukraine as well as other “strict” countries like France, because of its utmost bureaucracy. In case your beloved one needs to get some documents or you are going to start a business in Romania, the paperwork process will be never-ending. All these rules, formalities, formulas of politeness are extremely important in Romanian culture. It’s better to learn them before starting to court your Romanian girlfriend or proposing to her.
Dating a Romanian woman should always be approved by her parents or older relatives and have serious long-term perspectives. Romanian beauties do not tend to “waste their time” on empty talks, flirting, or short flings. Instead, they will gladly discuss with you their possible occupations after moving to your country, the principles of kids’ upbringing, and your romantic preferences. It shall be very hard to resist their enchanting eyes and welcoming lips but if you show some patience and respect, you’ll get the best bride you could dream about.
